2011 Mashable Awards
When I came across the 2011 Mashable Awards back in October, I thought it would be perfect for cDemo’s Mobile Inspector App to participate. I thought to myself “well, it is a long shot and it never hurts to try.” Never did I ever think that we would go so far in the awards!
On November 21, 2011, I patiently waited for the official announcement from Mashable’s to see if Mobile Inspector made it in at least one category as a finalist. As I was reading the announcement, there it was, the results that we were hoping for, WE MADE IT! Not only did we make it to the finals in one category, we were a finalist in two technology categories; MOST INNOVATIVE MOBILE APP and MOST USEFUL MOBILE APP. We were chosen by the Mashable community amongst hundreds of thousands of nominations. Our whole cDemo team was beyond excited.
Reality started sinking in and we realized this was a huge deal when, upon doing research I found that cDemo was:
- One of only four Canadian companies to make it as a finalist
- Have the respect of being the single of dual apps nominated in dual categories
- The ONLY Canadian Company to make it to the finals in TWO categories
- One of two Albertan companies to make it to the finals
- The only App to represent the Automobile Industry
After Finding those stats, I quickly put together a media release and sent it to all the major media outlets. There was a great response from them. This was News! We had officially made national news in Canada:
